The Pilates Hive Scholarship Program

Objective

 
The Pilates Hive seeks to improve the cultural and community diversity of the Pilates industry by offering  The Pilates Hive Scholarship Program.  The objective of The Pilates Hive Scholarship Program is to encourage students from diverse cultures and communities to enrol in courses at The Pilates Hive. The Pilates Hive Scholarship Program will be focused on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants as well as applicants from the cultures of the Pacific and our near neighbours, including, but not limited to, Māori, Papuan, Timorese, Fijian, Samoan and Tongan.


Value

The scholarship available within this program grants the successful applicants:

  • Covers 25% of all course fees at the time of enrolment.


Program Notes


When applying for The Pilates Hive Scholarship Program please keep in mind the following:

  • Applications must be completed and received by The Pilates Hive at least two weeks before the close of enrolments for the course(s) you have chosen. 
  • Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application no later than five business days before the close of enrolments.
      

Eligibility

The scholarship is available for each course intake to a commencing student of The Pilates Hive who:

  • Is at least 18 years old
  • Be able to communicate in written and spoken English


Selection

Selection is made on the basis of applicants meeting the eligibility criteria. Additional factors may be taken into account and may include, but are not limited to (in order of priority):

  1. Identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander;
  2. Identifies as Māori, Papuan, Timorese, Fijian, Samoan or Tongan or another culture or community of the Pacific
  3. Remoteness at time of application as determined by the geographical classification defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard – ASGS 2021. Priority will be given, in order of preference to students that are:  
    1. very remote,
    2. remote, and
    3. outer regional areas.

    • Title of the course(s) you are hoping to enrol in
    • Cultural Background
    • Detail any relevant cultural background you believe satisfies the program's objective and selection criteria
    • Personal Pilates Experience 
    • Detail your own experience of Pilates
    • Referee Reports 
    • These reports should focus on why the referees believe you will be successful in the course. It should also include contact details of the referees. Supply a minimum of two reports
    • Personal Goals  
    • Here is your chance to shine. Tell us about you. Explain why you believe you're the best candidate for this scholarship and how you will achieve success. Detail what your goal(s) is/are once you've completed this course and how will your voice be heard in the Pilates Industry. The more details the better.
